Brother Jacques James is the co-founder and Committee Chair of the North Carolina Alpha School Drive, where he is responsible for carrying out the leadership, direction, and overall vision of the committee. Bro. James has served in this capacity since the inaugural school drive in 2016. His leadership and willingness to serve on various sub committees has been integral to the growth of the NC Alpha School Drive. Currently, Brother James works in Higher Education where he assists in the office of Student Affairs at a local university. In his spare time, Bro. James is heavily involved in several organizations within the Charlotte community. Bro. James was initiated into the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, seated at Shaw University, and is currently a member of the Beta Nu Lambda Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated located in Charlotte, NC.
Brother Ryan D. Lawrence is the Co-Founder and Chief Advisor of the North Carolina Alpha School Drive. Lawrence developed the mission/vision and provides advice to the Executive Board on a full-range of operational and strategic goals/objectives. After graduating from Elizabeth City State University, Ryan relocated to New Hampshire to pursue his PhD in Earth and Environmental Science. Ryan continues to give back to his community by mentoring undergraduate students of color, especially those participating in STEM research, and also serves as an advisor to the National Society of Black Engineers - UNH chapter. Brother Lawrence is a Spring 2011 initiate in the 50th House of Alpha, the Beta Zeta Chapter.
Brother Stirling J. Nwafor is the Executive Director of the North Carolina Alpha School Drive, where he is responsible for assisting the Committee Chair in carrying out the overall direction and vision of the committee. He also assumes the duties of the Chair in his absence. Brother Stirlings efforts have played an integral part of the organization's development as he designed and constructed the NC Alpha School Drive website. Currently, Brother Stirling works for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Loan Officer, where he provides insight on technicalities of farm financing and credit, financial management concepts and practices, as well as production and marketing of various crops and livestock. When Sterling is not assisting the local farmers at his full time job or doing the work of Alpha, he spends his time volunteering throughout the city of Greensboro, NC. His favorite place to give time is at Hungry Church where he attends regularly. Stirling is a Spring 2014 initiate into the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. seated in Greensboro, NC.
